Dang
The Inner Terai's broad valley — rice fields, deers and Dang Deukhuri
Dang sits in Nepal's Inner Terai, a broad valley of rice fields and forest between the Mahabharat and Siwalik hill ranges, distinct from the flat outer Terai further south.
The district, sometimes called Dang Deukhuri after its twin valleys, supports significant agriculture alongside forest patches home to deer and other wildlife.
Dang's inner-valley geography makes it a transitional landscape between Lumbini Province's hills and its southern plains.

People & Culture
Dang is a historic homeland of the Tharu people, whose Inner Terai farming and forest traditions long predate the district's later hill-migrant settlement. The twin Dang and Deukhuri valleys retain distinct Tharu village patterns, with community forestry programmes helping preserve remaining forest patches and wildlife alongside expanding agriculture.
