Overview
Nepal wildlife tours from Singapore are premium 5 to 9-day safaris in Chitwan National Park, home to most of Nepal's greater one-horned rhinos, with remote Bardiya and the lakes of Pokhara on longer trips. The best time to go is October to April, and stays include the 5-star Kasara Resort and 4-star hotels.
A Chitwan safari tour takes you into Chitwan National Park, Nepal's first national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984, where sal forest, tall grassland and the Rapti River shelter most of Nepal's greater one-horned rhinos, as well as Bengal tigers, sloth bears and hundreds of bird species. Activities follow park rules: guided jeep safaris, dugout canoe trips on the Rapti and jungle walks with licensed guides.
For a remoter Nepal wildlife tour, Bardiya National Park in the far west is larger than Chitwan and far quieter, reached by a domestic flight to Nepalgunj and a road transfer. A Bardiya wildlife tour suits keen wildlife travellers and repeat visitors who value solitude over convenience. Sightings of tigers, rhinos and other animals are never guaranteed in either park.
HSJ Signature Journeys offers three premium wildlife tours from Singapore: Into the Wild, a 5-day Chitwan safari; Wild Nepal & Himalayan Lakes, 7 days combining Chitwan and Pokhara; and Nepal's Wild Frontier, 9 days through Bardiya, Pokhara and the Annapurna foothills. Stays include the 5-star Kasara Resort on the edge of Chitwan National Park, Hotel Barahi Kathmandu and Temple Bell Boutique Hotel & Spa in Pokhara.
The best time for a Chitwan safari is October to April; jeep safaris inside the park pause for the monsoon. Singapore Airlines flies nonstop to Kathmandu in about five hours, and Singapore passport holders can get a Nepal tourist visa on arrival. Elephant-back rides are not part of any journey. Each tour is arranged for your own party on dates you choose and priced on request in SGD.
