East Region
Changi Airport, Jewel, the east coast parks and Bedok Reservoir
The East Region of Singapore covers six of the Urban Redevelopment Authority's planning areas: Bedok, Changi, Changi Bay, Pasir Ris, Paya Lebar and Tampines. It is the region of Changi Airport and Jewel Changi Airport, and of a long seafront: East Coast Park, Changi Beach Park and Pasir Ris Park with its mangrove boardwalk.
History sits close to the airport at the Changi Chapel and Museum, which tells the story of the civilians and prisoners of war held at Changi during the Second World War and reopened on 19 May 2021. Bedok Reservoir has a 4.3 km loop round the water, and the Lorong Halus Wetland sits on a former landfill beside Serangoon Reservoir. For anyone travelling to the Himalaya, Changi is the departure point: Singapore Airlines flies nonstop to Kathmandu and Drukair flies to Paro with a stop in Guwahati.
