North-East Region
Pulau Ubin, Chek Jawa, Coney Island and the Punggol Waterway
The North-East Region of Singapore covers seven of the Urban Redevelopment Authority's planning areas: Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Punggol, Seletar, Sengkang, Serangoon and the North-Eastern Islands. Its best-known places for visitors are on the water, from the rustic island of Pulau Ubin to the parks of Punggol.
Pulau Ubin is a 10-minute bumboat ride from Changi Point Ferry Terminal, and its eastern tip holds Chek Jawa Wetlands, where sections of the Coastal Loop boardwalk are closed for maintenance from 15 September 2026 to 30 April 2027. Coney Island Park, reached on foot from Punggol, has no car parks and keeps its paths unpaved. Punggol Waterway Park follows a 4.2 km man-made waterway through the Punggol housing estate.
