Changi Beach Park

28-hectare coastal park on Changi's north-east shore, open 24 hours

View all 2 photos

Changi Beach Park is a 28-hectare coastal park along Nicoll Drive and Changi Coast Road in the Changi planning area, and NParks describes it as one of Singapore's oldest coastal parks. A Second World War memorial plaque in the park marks the Changi Beach Massacre of 1942, a reminder that the shore here saw killings during the Japanese Occupation.

Most visitors come for the long strip of white sand, the 20 bookable barbecue pits by the beach, the playgrounds and the fitness equipment. Seven car parks spread along the park, which is open 24 hours and wheelchair accessible. NParks asks visitors to wear covered shoes on the shore because of sharp rocks and spined wildlife, and states that camping and tents are not allowed. Changi Point Ferry Terminal, where bumboats leave for Pulau Ubin, is close by in Changi Village.

Cyclists use the park as the start or end of longer rides. The 3.6km Changi Bay Park Connector links it to the east coast park connector network, and the 15km Coastal Park Connector runs from Changi Beach Park to East Coast Park, a flat, steady route for building endurance before a long trek.
