Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) is Nepal's principal international gateway, on the eastern edge of Kathmandu. It's where almost every Nepal trip begins and ends, and the departure point for domestic mountain flights, including the scenic Everest and Annapurna sightseeing routes.
The airport works off a single runway at about 1,338m, which is the root of most of its difficulties: in peak season the schedule congests badly and domestic departures slip by hours. Visa on arrival is available to most nationalities, Singapore included, from kiosks in the arrivals hall. The domestic terminal is a separate building a short walk from international arrivals. In spring and autumn, Lukla flights are often moved out to Manthali to free capacity here.
