FAQs

Nepal changes completely in seven days if you let it. This trip starts in the steamy lowland jungle of Chitwan and finishes beside a lake in the hills, with the Annapurna range above it on clear days. The contrast is the point. It is a premium package from the first night, which you spend at Hotel Barahi Kathmandu, a premium 4-star hotel on Kantipath.

In Chitwan National Park, Nepal's first national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984, you stay two nights at the 5-star Kasara Resort, where jeep safaris, canoes on the Rapti and jungle walks start from the property. A naturalist leads every park-authorised activity. The park holds most of Nepal's greater one-horned rhinos and a strong tiger population, but no sighting is ever promised.

Then you head north into the hills to Pokhara, where the pace slows, with three nights at Temple Bell Boutique Hotel & Spa, a premium 4-star hotel finished in carved wood and local stone, about ten minutes' walk from Phewa Lake. Row across Phewa Lake, climb to the World Peace Pagoda above its southern shore, or rise early for Sarangkot, about 1,600 metres up, where Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu appear if the clouds allow. Mountain views depend entirely on the weather, so we keep these mornings flexible.

The last full day is deliberately loose: free time by the water, a short guided walk or a quieter morning at Begnas Lake. We would rather give you room to enjoy the place than add one more sight to the list.

This is a premium package with premium 4-star hotels and the 5-star Kasara Resort in Chitwan, a dedicated guide and an air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver, arranged for your own party on dates you choose. Your quotation confirms the meal plan, how you travel between Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara, and which park fees are included, and the price is quoted on request.

Arrive in Kathmandu

Max 1,400 m

Tribhuvan International Airport → Kathmandu

Short transfer to the hotel

Hotel Barahi Kathmandu

Fly out of Changi Airport in the evening: SQ442 has lately been leaving at about 18:50, and Singapore Airlines takes roughly five hours, nonstop, to Kathmandu. Landing at Tribhuvan International Airport near 21:30 Nepal time, look for your representative; a professional driver then takes you to Kantipath and Hotel Barahi Kathmandu (premium 4-star).

Arriving at night means a quiet airport run and an easy check-in. Keep US dollars in cash for the visa on arrival, and the arrival form filled in online, to move through immigration faster. Once at the hotel, simply rest, with the jungle of Chitwan and the lakes of Pokhara still ahead.

Summary: SQ442 out of Changi, a late arrival in the capital, a representative at the gate and a night at Hotel Barahi Kathmandu before jungle, then lakes.

Breakfast

After breakfast, travel south to Chitwan National Park by the option confirmed in your quotation: usually five to seven hours by road, given the traffic out of the valley, or about 25 minutes in the air to Bharatpur followed by a short drive. You arrive at the 5-star Kasara Resort at Patihani, on the edge of the park in Nepal's Terai.

Chitwan's sal forest, tall grassland and rivers make up one of Asia's best-known wildlife parks, Nepal's first national park and listed by UNESCO in 1984. Late in the day, if the resort offers it, take a sunset walk or a resort activity near the Rapti River and listen to the evening chorus of birds and insects as the heat eases. The lowland air is warmer and more humid than Kathmandu's, so use repellent at dusk.

Summary: Travel to Chitwan by road or by flight and road, check in at the 5-star Kasara Resort at Patihani and enjoy a sunset walk or resort activity by the Rapti if available.

Kantipath, Kathmandu

Hotel Barahi stands on Kantipath, a minute's walk from the Garden of Dreams and three from Durbar Marg. That puts Thamel close enough to walk into on a first evening and far enough back to sleep through.

There are 80 rooms, among them three junior suites and six that interconnect for families. The Deck, on the roof, serves Nepali and international food beside the pool with the city below and the hills behind it, and there is a spa for the evening a trek ends.

Patihani-2, Chitwan

Kasara sits at Patihani on the edge of Chitwan National Park, the UNESCO-listed grassland and sal forest where Nepal's rhino and tiger actually live. The park boundary is the point: jeep safaris, canoes on the Rapti, jungle walks and birdwatching all start from the property rather than from a drive away.

Rooms are villas rather than corridors. The deluxe villas run to about 130 square metres each, with a private water-garden courtyard, a bathroom that opens to the outside, and a sun deck that can be laid for dinner on its own. Two family villas add three bedrooms and a private infinity plunge pool looking into the forest.

There is an outdoor pool, a spa, and kitchens that cook from the resort's own fruit and vegetables and from what the villages nearby grow. Evenings tend to end with a Tharu cultural performance rather than a bar.

Temple Bell stands at 17 Lakeside, about ten minutes' walk from Phewa Lake and a short drive from the airport, which matters on a trek: you arrive off the mountain, and the lake and its restaurants are on foot rather than another drive away.

There are 55 rooms, from 32 square metre deluxes to 40 square metre suites, finished in carved wood and local stone. Two restaurants, a bar, an outdoor pool, a steam room and a 24-hour gym, and the massages and body treatments are the point of the first evening down from Annapurna.

Good to Know

FAQs

Is this trip right for you

This is an all-round nature holiday at a moderate pace: two nights of jungle in Chitwan, three nights of lakes and hills in Pokhara, and no trekking. Safari activities are guided and mostly seated, and Pokhara's sights are reached by short drives. If you are comfortable with early starts and a couple of long road days, you can do this trip.

It suits families, couples and anyone with seven days in Nepal who wants wildlife and scenery in one journey. If you have less time, our 5-day Chitwan safari is simpler. If you want a remoter park and do not mind heavier logistics, our 9-day trip adds Bardiya in the far west.

Two things are never in our gift: wildlife sightings and mountain views. We plan for the best chance of both, with good habitat, a skilled naturalist and flexible mornings in Pokhara, but nobody can promise either, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Know Before You Go

Your quotation names your hotels: Hotel Barahi Kathmandu and Temple Bell Boutique Hotel & Spa in Pokhara, both premium 4-star, and the 5-star Kasara Resort in Chitwan. It also confirms, in writing, the meal plan, how you travel between Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara, which guided activities are included, and which park permits and entrance fees are covered. If something is not in the quotation, assume it is not included and ask us.

Chitwan's activities follow park rules. Jeep safaris run inside the park in the dry season and are suspended for the monsoon, from 1 July in 2026 until about the third week of September. Jungle walks go out with licensed guides and canoe trips use dugouts on the Rapti River. We do not include elephant-back rides.

Domestic airlines in Nepal set their own baggage allowances, which are lower than international ones, so pack light or plan to leave a bag in Kathmandu. We confirm the allowance with your quotation. Bring layers, because Pokhara's mornings can be cool even when Chitwan is warm.

Visas & Entry to Nepal

Singapore passport holders need a visa for Nepal, and Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that a tourist visa can be obtained on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Nepal's embassies list the on-arrival fees as USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days and USD 125 for 90 days. A trip of seven days fits comfortably inside the 15-day visa.

Your passport should be valid for at least six months. You can fill in the arrival form online on Nepal's immigration portal within 15 days before you fly and bring the printed barcode, or use the self-service kiosks in the arrivals hall. Carry the visa fee in clean US dollar notes, because cash is the simplest way to pay at the counter.

The visa fee is not part of the trip price. Fees and rules can change at short notice, so we send an up-to-date checklist with your confirmation, and we recommend a final check with the Nepal Consulate in Singapore before you travel.

Flights from Singapore

Singapore Airlines flies nonstop between Changi and Kathmandu, a flight of about five hours. The current schedule leaves Singapore in the evening and lands at Tribhuvan International Airport in the late evening, which is why Day 1 is an arrival and a quiet night rather than a day of sightseeing. Connecting options through other Asian hubs also exist if they suit your dates better.

The return service currently leaves Kathmandu late at night and reaches Changi early the next morning. That usually leaves time for the flight back from Pokhara on the last day, but we never plan a tight same-day connection. If your flight leaves earlier, or the domestic leg looks fragile, we add a night in Kathmandu instead.

International flights are not included, and airline schedules change seasonally, so please send us your flight details before you book them. We build the itinerary around your arrival and departure times rather than the other way round.

Health & Comfort

Nothing on this trip goes high: Chitwan lies in the lowland Terai, Pokhara sits at about 822 metres and Kathmandu at about 1,400, with Sarangkot at about 1,600 the optional high point. Heat is the bigger factor in the lowlands: April and May can reach the mid-40s Celsius, while December and January bring cool, misty mornings. Drink plenty of water and plan for both.

Mosquitoes and other insects are part of jungle life, especially around dusk and after rain. Speak to your doctor or a travel clinic in Singapore well before you travel about vaccinations and any malaria advice for the Terai, and bring repellent and long sleeves for evenings.

Jeep tracks are rough and dusty, so tell us about any back or mobility concerns. On walks and river trips, follow your guides' instructions at all times, because wildlife safety depends on it. Travel insurance that covers medical evacuation is strongly recommended.

Culture & Etiquette

The Tharu are an indigenous people of Nepal's Terai, and their villages sit close to the lowland parks. Tharu cultural programmes, including the stick dance, have been performed for visitors in Sauraha for decades. They are a performance, but a genuine one, and they help support local cultural groups.

Ask before photographing people, especially in villages, and dress modestly away from your hotel. Inside the parks, keep voices low, never feed or approach animals, and stay with your guides. Neutral clothing helps you blend in, and patience nearly always brings better sightings than chasing them.

Tipping is customary in Nepal for guides, naturalists and drivers. Your guide can advise on sensible amounts, and tips are never included in the trip price.

Our Support

Your dedicated guide is with you from arrival to departure, and in Chitwan a qualified local naturalist leads the wildlife activities. Our Kathmandu team stays in touch throughout and can be reached if anything changes.

We watch domestic flight schedules, road conditions and park notices for you. If a flight is cancelled, a road is disrupted or a park changes its activity rules, we adjust the plan and tell you why. Your quotation sets out the accommodation, meal plan, transport, activities and permits, so you always know what you have booked.
