Pokhara International Airport

Pokhara International Airport opened on 1 January 2023 as Nepal's third international airport, replacing the older domestic airstrip in the city. It handles the short Kathmandu-Pokhara hop as well as international charter flights, and is the usual arrival and departure point for Annapurna region treks.

Despite the name, regular scheduled international services have not materialised: the airport handles domestic flights and occasional charters, and the absence of a direct air route agreement with India has kept commercial international traffic away. In practice travellers from Singapore still fly into Kathmandu and connect on the 25 minute domestic hop, or drive six to seven hours. The airport is on the eastern side of Pokhara, about twenty minutes from Lakeside.
