Natural Wonder

Thamserku

A steep, ridged peak above Namche Bazaar, often the first high Himalayan summit trekkers see.

Thamserku rises to 6,623m directly east of Namche Bazaar, the main trekking hub of the Khumbu region. Its steep faces and ridgeline make it one of the first high Himalayan peaks visible to trekkers arriving from the lower Dudh Kosi valley.

It is connected by a ridge to the neighbouring peak Kangtega, and both mountains form a familiar backdrop for trekkers based in or passing through Namche Bazaar.
