Ama Dablam
One of the most photographed mountains in the world, a constant presence on the Everest trail.
Ama Dablam rises to about 6,812m in the Khumbu region of Solukhumbu district. Its elevation is recorded as either 6,812m or 6,814m depending on the source, both figures appearing across expedition records and guidebooks.
Its distinctive double ridge and hanging glacier, resembling a mother's jewelry box (the meaning of its name), make it one of the most photographed mountains in the world, visible for much of the walk between Namche Bazaar and Everest Base Camp.
