Birethanti

Birethanti (1,030m) sits at the confluence of the Modi Khola and Bhurungdi rivers, a short walk from Nayapul, and is where ACAP permit checks happen for trekkers heading toward Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani or Ghandruk.

Birethanti has changed with the road. Vehicles now run well beyond Nayapul up both sides of the valley, so many trekkers start higher and the village is more often a lunch stop than a first night. The permit post here still checks every party, and this is the point where the Ghandruk and Ghorepani routes divide. The stone paved street and the river pools below it are worth the stop regardless.
