Dhulikhel

Dhulikhel is a charming hilltop town in Kavrepalanchok District, celebrated for its stunning views of the Himalayan range and its well-preserved Newari architecture. The town's old bazaar quarter retains centuries-old temples, rest houses (pati), and traditional brick buildings that give it a timeless character.As a starting point for hikes to Namobuddha and the Indrawati Valley, and with excellent mountain resorts, Dhulikhel is a popular weekend getaway and a base for exploring the eastern hills of Bagmati Province.

Dhulikhel stands at about 1,550m on the old trading route to Tibet, which is why a Newar merchant town grew here rather than a farming village. From the viewpoint above the bazaar the skyline runs from Langtang and Dorje Lakpa east to Gauri Shankar. The walk to the hilltop stupa at Namobuddha takes around three hours.
