Ganesh Himal is a Himalayan massif straddling the Dhading-Gorkha district border, its highest summit, Yangra, reaching 7,422m. Three other peaks in the range exceed 7,000m and a further fourteen exceed 6,000m, making it a significant range in its own right despite being far less visited than its Langtang and Manaslu neighbours.
The range gives its name to the Ruby Valley and Ganesh Himal Trek, which crosses Pangsang Pass for close views of the massif.
Yangra was first climbed in 1955 by a party led by Raymond Lambert that included Claude Kogan, and the four main summits are numbered Ganesh I to IV. The range takes its name from a rock formation on its southern flank read as the elephant head of Ganesh. The Ruby Valley route is walked in about ten days, starting from Dhading or from Syabrubesi on the Langtang road.
