Rani Mahal

Rani Mahal is a striking Mughal-style palace built on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River in Palpa District, commissioned in 1893 by Governor Khadga Shamsher Rana in memory of his beloved wife. The palace's white-plastered arches and domes reflected in the river below have earned it the nickname of Nepal's Taj Mahal.Though partially in ruins, the palace has been partially restored and the riverside setting — accessible by a short hike through forested terrain — makes the journey as picturesque as the destination itself. It is one of Nepal's most romantically atmospheric heritage sites.
