Tiger reserve forming Nepal's Western Terai Complex together with Bardiya National Park
Banke National Park protects sal forest and grassland along the Rapti and Babai river systems in the Terai lowlands. Established in 2010, it forms one connected wildlife corridor with the neighbouring Bardiya National Park, together known as the Western Terai Complex, and shares Bardiya's population of Bengal tigers, along with wild elephants and diverse birdlife.
