Sandhikharka

Sandhikharka is the administrative headquarters of Arghakhanchi District, situated in the mid-hill region of western Nepal. The town is set amid terraced hillsides and forest with pleasant views of the surrounding landscapes of Lumbini Province.It serves as the base for exploring the natural attractions of Arghakhanchi, including the Chodechaur wetland, ancient temples, and the traditional communities of the western Pahad region rarely visited by international tourists.

Sandhikharka stands at about 1,200m and is reached by road from Butwal, roughly 60km south, which is the usual way in for anyone coming from Lumbini. The name refers to a meeting ground, and the weekly market still draws sellers from across the district. Chodechaur and the Supa Deurali shrine are the two places visitors are most often taken.
