Chodechaur

Chodechaur is a scenic wetland and lake area in Arghakhanchi District, offering a peaceful natural retreat in the western mid-hills of Nepal. The lake and surrounding marshes attract migratory and resident birds and provide a serene landscape for nature walks and picnicking.Relatively unknown to outside visitors, Chodechaur represents the kind of unspoiled natural beauty typical of western Nepal's lesser-visited districts, and is appreciated by locals as a rare natural gem in the Arghakhanchi hills.

Arghakhanchi lies in the Mahabharat hills of Lumbini Province, and Chodechaur is reached by road from the district headquarters at Sandhikharka. The district's best known pilgrimage site, Supa Deurali, fills at Dashain, and the hills around the wetland are farmed by Magar and Chhetri households growing maize, millet and mustard on rain fed terraces.
