Waling

Waling is a municipality in Syangja District set in the scenic Seti River valley landscape of the Gandaki Province. The town is known for its pleasant hillside setting, lush green surroundings, and as a gateway to the natural attractions of the Syangja hills.The surrounding countryside offers opportunities for rural trekking, visits to traditional Gurung villages, and peaceful riverside walks in a region that sees relatively few international tourists.

Waling lies on the Siddhartha Highway about 50km south of Pokhara, which makes it a stop on the way rather than a place reached on its own. The Andhi Khola, dammed upstream for one of Nepal's earlier small hydropower schemes, runs below the town, and the forested ridge of Panchase rises to the northwest.
