Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is the cultural crown of the ancient city of Bhaktapur, preserving one of the finest concentrations of medieval Newari architecture in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The square showcases the artistic and architectural heights of the Malla period, with the 55-window palace, Vatsala Temple, and Nyatapola pagoda among its iconic landmarks.Unlike the busier squares of Kathmandu and Patan, Bhaktapur retains a more authentic medieval atmosphere, with traditional crafts, pottery, and thangka painting still practiced in the surrounding streets and courtyards.
