Haripur

Haripur is a small religious town in Sarlahi District known for its ancient Hindu shrines and temples along the Bagmati River. The town is a pilgrimage destination for devotees of Lord Vishnu and local deities.Haripur's peaceful riverside setting and traditional architecture reflect the spiritual character of the Madhesh plain's communities.

Haripur lies on the Bagmati in Sarlahi, where the river leaves the Chure and spreads across the plain, and the barrage downstream is what makes the land around it some of the most intensively irrigated in the district. It is reached by a short road south off the East West Highway, and the district headquarters at Malangwa is about 30km away.
