Malangwa

Malangwa is the headquarters of Sarlahi District in Nepal's Madhesh Province. The city serves as a center for local administration and commerce in the fertile Terai plains, known for its agricultural production and traditional Maithili culture.The city hosts local festivals and markets that reflect the living traditions of the Madheshi communities of the inner Terai.

Malangwa stands close to the Indian border, with a crossing into Bihar a short distance south, and the Bagmati runs along the district's western edge. Sarlahi is one of Nepal's main sugarcane districts, and the mills around the town set the rhythm of the year here. Birgunj is the nearest large city, west along the plains.
