Attraction
Phidim
Panchthar's scenic ridge capital with rhododendron walks and Himalayan views
Phidim is the district headquarters of Panchthar, sitting at around 1,200 metres on a ridge in the far eastern hills of Nepal, close to the Indian state of Sikkim. The town is surrounded by cardamom and tea plantations, temperate forest, and rhododendron groves that blaze red in spring. Phidim is a quiet and authentic Nepali hill town with a warm Limbu cultural character, and the Saturday market is a lively gathering of communities from across the district. The ridge above town offers excellent views toward Kanchenjunga and the Singalila range on the India–Nepal border.
