Dhampus

Dhampus (1,650m) is a Gurung and Magar village on a ridge above Phedi, popular as a short, easy trek from Pokhara for views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges without committing to a multi-day trek, and also used as a stop on the alternate Landruk approach to the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Phedi is about forty minutes by road from Pokhara and the climb from there is a stone staircase of an hour or so. An Annapurna Conservation Area permit and a TIMS card are required even for a single night up here, and both are issued in Pokhara rather than at the trailhead. Australian Camp, an hour further along the ridge, makes the usual second night.
