Its summit sits within the wider Annapurna Conservation Area, which spans the Kaski, Myagdi, Manang, Mustang and Lamjung districts, and it is the mountain the Annapurna Sanctuary and Annapurna Base Camp are named for, visible in full from inside the amphitheatre of peaks at Base Camp.
