Nabji-Korphu Trek Villages

Nabji and Korphu are villages in Zhemgang, in the buffer zone of Royal Manas National Park, linked by a low altitude trek that was among the first community based tourism projects in Bhutan. The route was designed so that the villages themselves take the income from it.

The walking is gentle by Bhutanese standards and the season is the opposite of the high treks: this is winter country, warm enough to walk when the passes north are closed. Accommodation is with families or in village camps rather than lodges. The forest here is subtropical broadleaf, and the park beyond it holds tiger, elephant and golden langur.
