View all 2 photos
Jurong Lake Gardens is a 90-hectare national garden around Jurong Lake in the Jurong Lake District, western Singapore, made up of Lakeside Garden, the Chinese Garden and the Japanese Garden. NParks opened Lakeside Garden, the first phase, in April 2019 and completed the gardens on 8 September 2024, when the rejuvenated Chinese and Japanese Gardens reopened. NParks describes them as Singapore's third national gardens and the first in the heartlands.
Lakeside Garden covers 60 hectares on the western shore and stays open 24 hours. Its wetlands, grassland bird hides and Rasau Walk, a 300-metre boardwalk through restored freshwater swamp, suit a slow walk, while families head for Forest Ramble, a nature playgarden with 13 adventure stations, and the Clusia Cove water play area. Across the lake, the Chinese Garden keeps its seven-storey Cloud Pagoda, Twin Pagoda and Stoneboat, and the Japanese Garden, first completed in 1973, gained a Sunken Garden in the redevelopment. Both open daily from 5.30am to midnight.
Lakeside MRT station is the closest stop for Lakeside Garden, and Chinese Garden MRT station leads to the Chinese Garden Bridge entrance.
