Labrador Nature Reserve

Coastal headland reserve with the mainland's only public rocky sea cliff

View all 3 photos

Labrador Nature Reserve sits on a coastal headland along Labrador Villa Road in south-west Singapore, looking across Keppel Harbour to Sentosa. NParks lists the combined Labrador Nature Reserve and Nature Park at 22 hectares; the reserve protects coastal forest and what NParks calls the only publicly accessible rocky sea cliff on the mainland, and it was designated a nature reserve in 2002. The headland was once a coastal artillery fort built by the British and played a part in Singapore's history during the Second World War.

Visitors can see a replica of the Dragon's Teeth Gate, a rock outcrop that NParks says was blown up in 1848 to widen the channel for ships. The 2.1 km Labrador Nature and Coastal Walk, rated easy and wheelchair-friendly with an average walking time of 45 minutes, connects the area to the Southern Ridges through the Alexandra Garden Trail, the Berlayar Creek mangroves and the Bukit Chermin Boardwalk. The nearest stop is Labrador Park MRT station. The nature reserve section is open from 7am to 7pm, while the surrounding park is open 24 hours.

Several areas are closed. The Casemate and the rocky shore are shut for public safety, some parts of the reserve have been closed for slope works since 1 March 2023, and the Berlayar Creek boardwalk is closed for improvement works from 3 June 2026 to 31 March 2027, which takes the mangrove section out of the coastal walk for that period.
