Ramsar-listed wetland and bird sanctuary with 13 associated lakes
Ghodaghodi Lake is a Ramsar-listed wetland covering 2,563 hectares in the Siwalik foothills of Kailali district, designated in August 2003 and declared a bird sanctuary in March 2022. Thirteen smaller lakes and ponds sit around its periphery, and the area forms a wildlife corridor between the Terai lowlands and the Siwalik hills.
