Jumla Valley

Jumla Valley is the administrative and cultural heartland of Jumla District in the Karnali Province, one of Nepal's most remote and least developed regions. The valley sits at around 2,370 metres amid apple orchards, pine forests, and the Tila River, and is believed to be the birthplace of the ancient Khas kingdom from which the Nepali language evolved.Jumla is accessible by domestic flight or a multi-day walk, and serves as the main base for trekking to Rara Lake (Nepal's largest lake), the Sinja Valley, and other remote attractions of the Karnali highlands.
