Khaptad Plateau

Khaptad National Park protects a unique high-altitude plateau in the far western hills of Nepal, one of the country's most pristine and spiritually significant natural landscapes. The plateau at around 3,000 metres is a rare grassland ecosystem in the Himalayan foothills, home to diverse wildlife including leopards, deer, and over 270 bird species.The park is associated with the revered saint Khaptad Swami who meditated here for decades, and the Tribeni (three rivers confluence) and Khaptad Daha lake on the plateau are sacred Hindu sites.
