Tadapani

Tadapani (2,630m) sits on a forested ridge on the Kaski side of the Poon Hill/Annapurna Sanctuary route, reached from Ghorepani through dense rhododendron forest. Its name means "far water" in Nepali, a nod to the walk down to the nearest water source, teahouses here look out over Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.

From Tadapani the route splits: down through Bhaichek to Ghandruk in two to three hours, which is how most Poon Hill treks finish, or east through Chuile and across the Kimrong Khola towards Chhomrong for anyone continuing to the Sanctuary. The view from the lodge terraces is close and high rather than wide, with Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre almost overhead, and it is best at first light before the cloud forms.
