Paro International Airport
Bhutan's only international airport, at 2,235 metres in the Paro valley
Paro International Airport is the only international airport of Bhutan's four, set at 2,235 metres in a narrow valley ringed by peaks as high as 5,500 metres. It is counted among the most challenging airports in the world: only a few dozen airline pilots are certified to land here, and flights run only in daylight and in clear weather. Bhutan's two airlines, Drukair and Bhutan Airlines, both fly from Paro.
