Siloso Beach
Sentosa's west-side beach, with lifeguards daily and bars into the night
View all 3 photos
Siloso Beach is a free public beach on the south-west shore of Sentosa island, running from Beach Station towards Siloso Point and Fort Siloso. Sentosa's official site lists it among the island's free attractions and pitches it as its liveliest beach, lined with bars and restaurants that stay open into the night. Beach Patrol Officers, Sentosa's lifeguards, are on duty at Siloso and Palawan beaches from 9am to 7pm daily, including public holidays.
By day, people swim, kayak, skim-board, cycle and rollerblade along the beachfront. Sentosa asks swimmers to stay between the red and yellow flags, where patrol officers watch the water, to keep away from the rock bunds, and not to swim after 7pm. It warns that strong currents can run just beyond the islets off Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong beaches, and that jellyfish have been sighted in Sentosa waters, so report any you see to the patrol officers. To get there, take the Sentosa Express to Beach Station and change to the Beach Shuttle, or ride bus 123 to Beach Station; the nearest car park is Beach Station Car Park. The Siloso Point station of the cable car's Sentosa Line, opened on 14 July 2015, sits at the western end next to Fort Siloso.
