Shuklaphanta Safari Circuit
Grassland safari among Nepal's densest wildlife
The Shuklaphanta Safari Circuit covers the key wildlife viewing areas within Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve in Kanchanpur District, offering jeep and elephant safaris through the reserve's famous open grasslands (phanta) and riverine forests. The circuit passes the key grassland areas where enormous herds of swamp deer gather, and the forest edges where tigers, leopards, and elephants are regularly sighted. With far fewer visitors than Chitwan or Bardia, Shuklaphanta offers an intimate and unhurried wildlife viewing experience that allows extended observation of animal behavior in a genuinely wild setting — one of the finest wildlife experiences in all of Nepal.
