FAQs

This is Everest Base Camp without the two-week trek. You fly from Kathmandu by helicopter, stop to refuel at Lukla, then fly up the Khumbu valley over Everest Base Camp to land at Kala Patthar (5,545m), the classic viewpoint facing Everest.

After 10 to 15 minutes on the ground, you fly down to Hotel Everest View (3,962m) for breakfast on the terrace, which we include in the price rather than charging extra, then return to Kathmandu before noon. Helicopters do not land at Base Camp itself, because of the moving glacier and aviation rules.

Choose a shared seat, or charter the whole helicopter (up to 5 passengers) for your own group.

FAQs

General

3

Does the helicopter land at Everest Base Camp?

No. Helicopters do not land at Base Camp itself because of the moving glacier and aviation rules. You fly over Base Camp and land at Kala Patthar, which has the better view of Everest.

Is the altitude a problem?

You spend only 10 to 15 minutes at 5,545m, and emergency oxygen is on board. The flight is not recommended for anyone with serious heart or lung conditions; ask us if you are unsure.

Can we charter the helicopter privately?

Yes. A private charter takes up to 5 passengers, so your group flies alone. Ask us for the charter price.
