There are cheaper trips to Nepal. We know.
What follows is what the difference buys — said plainly, so you can decide whether it matters to you. If it doesn't, book the cheaper one with our blessing.
Singapore desk, Nepal operations
Guides on payroll year-round
Groups capped at 12
Every trip funds community work
No middleman
You're booking with the operator, not a reseller
Plenty of companies sell Nepal trips and then hand you to a local operator on arrival. We are the local operator. The person planning your trip knows the guide by name and knows which teahouse has the better kitchen.
When it goes wrong
The unglamorous part we take seriously
Altitude does not care how fit you are. Our guides are trained to spot it early and to call it before you would. We work with certified aviation partners for evacuation, and our medical assistance team has coordinated this before.
The questions people actually ask
Why is this more expensive than what I found online?
Mostly wages. Our guides and porters are paid year-round rather than per trip, and we cap loads and group sizes in ways that cost us money. Some of the gap is also insurance and evacuation cover that a lot of cheaper operators leave to you.
Do I need to be fit?
For most of our treks: you should be able to walk five to six hours on consecutive days without dreading it. You do not need to be an athlete. Tell us honestly where you're at and we'll tell you honestly whether a trip suits you — including when the answer is no.
Is it safe for solo travellers, especially women?
Yes, and a good portion of every group travels solo. You get your own room on request, our guides are briefed on this, and we can put you in touch with past travellers if you'd like to hear it from someone other than us.
What happens if I get sick or the weather turns?
Your guide makes the call and we back it. If you need to come down, you come down — we don't push. For anything serious we coordinate with certified aviation partners. Rerouting because of weather is normal and built into how we plan.
Can you build something just for our group?
Yes — families, offices and groups of friends are a big part of what we do. Send us dates, rough numbers and what you're hoping for, and we'll come back with an outline before you commit to anything.
